Belgian Cookie Waffles

These waffles are meant to eat like cookies and since they are already sweet enough, you don't need a topping!  You can usually keep them for a week or more in a closed box.  You can make about 50 waffles with this recipe from grandma's kitchen:

Ingredients:

3 cups of creamy butter
5 cups of white sugar
8 cups of all purpose flour
10 to 20 eggs
1 package of baking powder

1. Take a big pot and melt the butter on a small fire  (do not make it too hot)
2. take the pot off the stove and with a wooden spoon, fold in the sugar
3. separate the egg whites from yolks
4. add yolks to batter and stir well with wooden spoon
5. add the flour and stir until you get a nice batter
6. whip egg whites until stiff and fold them under the batter
7. let your batter stand for at least 15 minutes in a warm place
8. bake it in a hot waffle iron
